The Decline Of British Sea Power is the long awaited debut album (after 3 precursory singles on Rough Trade) from one of the most innovative, visionary bands of our time. There's undoubtedly a passing resemblance to the more adrenalized elements of late 70's/early 80's new wave, from Joy Division to Magazine here, but there's also a sublime undercurrent of romantic nostalgia as well that helps make it its own.
