Pinback's (ex Heavy Vegetable and Three Mile Pilot) classic second full length is an ardently crafted piece, showcasing the band in an intensely ambitious and new direction. The delicate and heavenly harmonies for which Pinback are lauded still swath this record with a subtle brilliance. However, with this release, Pinback demonstrate a more versatile and ambitious approach to songwriting than one would come to expect from these San Diego kids. While always gentle and ethereal Pinback have a louder and more aggressive side that is equally as profound.
